Eau Rouge / Raidillon - a compression at the bottom of a dip followed by a blind uphill right on a 17% gradient. Pouhon - a long, fast downhill double-left taken close to flat out.
At 7.004 km Spa is by far the longest circuit on the Formula 1 calendar and has the biggest elevation change at over 102 metres, cutting through the Ardennes forest on a layout descended from public roads first used in 1921. Its microclimate is notorious: the lap is long enough that one end of the circuit can be soaked while the other stays dry.
The gold finish
Cut from premium gold mirror acrylic. It is not lit: the finish catches whatever light is in the room, which is what gives it depth.
