Zandvoort is the only circuit on the calendar with two banked corners - Hugenholtz at 19 degrees and the Arie Luyendyk final corner at 18 degrees, roughly double the banking at Indianapolis - added when the track returned to F1 in 2021 after a 36-year absence. The layout is threaded through North Sea sand dunes, giving it a rollercoaster character no modern purpose-built circuit matches.
The outright lap record stands at 1:11.097, set by Lewis Hamilton for Mercedes in 2021. That is 4.259 km and 14 turns, flat out.
