Turn 1 (Niki Lauda Kurve) - steep uphill blind right-hander onto the circuit's longest climb. Turn 3 (Remus) - heaviest braking zone on the lap and the prime overtaking spot.
At roughly 4.3 km and only 10 corners it is one of the shortest laps in Formula 1, so lap times dip into the 1m05s range and the entire field is routinely covered by around a second in qualifying. Almost the whole first half of the lap is spent climbing, with about 63 metres of elevation gain between the start line and Turn 2.
