Turn 1 (Michael Schumacher Corner) - heavy braking right-hander at the end of the main straight, renamed in 2014 and F1's classic Bahrain overtaking spot. Turn 10 - tight, downhill, off-camber left-hander widely regarded as the hardest corner on the lap.
Sakhir hosted the first Formula 1 Grand Prix ever held in the Middle East in 2004 and has run under floodlights as a night race since 2014. Its abrasive desert asphalt and heavy braking zones make tyre degradation among the highest on the calendar, which is why F1 uses the venue for pre-season testing.
